Please join us on May 10th, 2022 at 6pm for a one-hour private tour for Garden Members only - we'll gather at the entrance to the Garden, in the courtyard. Gates to the Garden will reopen at 5:45pm allowing access to the Garden for tour participants only.
Spring has sprung, and the Garry Oak Meadow Garden is well on its way to peak-bloom. Join Ben Stormes for a members-only tour of this seasonal highlight to learn about this locally threatened ecosystem, explore the Garry oak meadow here at UBC Botanical Garden, and see some of the charismatic plants currently in bloom.
Ben Stormes is the curator and horticulturist for the North American Gardens at UBC Botanical Garden. He has been with the Garden since the summer of 2016, and brings with him a strong record of both academic and applied experience in horticulture, public outreach, and education. A passionate gardener since a young age, Ben always has a little dirt under his nails, no matter how hard he scrubs.
Here's a little snippet on our youtube channel, where Ben shares his knowledge of the Garry Oak.
