Event admission tickets are required to attend workshop.
Description: Indulge in a fun-filled, intimate workshop where you’ll learn the secrets behind making sweet dumplings (甜湯圓 (tāng yuán | tong1 jyun4-2) ), a delightful Lunar New Year dessert. Our skilled instructor will provide step-by-step instructions, making it easy for everyone, even if you're new to dumpling-making! By the end, you'll leave with the skills to recreate these delectable treats in the comfort of your own kitchen. Bonus! You get to eat the sweet dumplings you make.
Age limit: Participants must be 5+ years old. Children under 12 must be accompanied by one parent or guardian, and will share one portion of dumplings - only one ticket required.
Date and Time: January 25th & 26th, 2025 11:00AM – 12:30PM & 1:30PM – 3:00PM
Location: Reception Centre, UBC Botanical Garden, 6804 SW Marine Drive
Cost: $12 (plus tax and applicable fees)
Important Notes: The workshop will be conducted in pairs. If you do not have a partner, you will be assigned one randomly.
Ingredients used for this workshop are gluten free, peanut free (but may contain traces of) and vegan. Workshop does include sesame seeds. The facility is not nut and gluten free.
Cancellation Policies: UBC Botanical Garden's Lunar New Year Market is a not-for-profit event. We do not have the capacity to change tickets for a different day or refund tickets. If the market is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, ticket holders will receive a gift card for the value of their tickets that can be redeemed for UBC Botanical Garden and Nitobe Memorial Garden admission and in The Shop in the Garden.
